Privacy policy.

What the Aerospace Skills website collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Scope

This policy applies to aeroastro.org and any newsletter subscription form offered on that site. It does not govern third-party websites that we link to.

The Aerospace Skills npm installer and installed calculation runners execute locally and collect no telemetry. They do not send calculation inputs or results to Aerospace Skills.

Information we collect

Website analytics

The production website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve the site. Google may process information such as pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location, browser and device information, interaction events, and Internet Protocol addresses. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser identifiers.

Hosting and security logs

The website is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may process request and diagnostic information such as an Internet Protocol address, requested URL, timestamp, browser user-agent, and error or security events to deliver, secure, and operate the site.

Newsletter subscriptions

If you submit an email address through a Beehiiv subscription form on the site, Beehiiv processes that address so the requested newsletter can be delivered. Beehiiv may also provide delivery, open, click, and subscription-status information. Subscription is voluntary, and every marketing email should include an unsubscribe mechanism.

Messages you send

If you contact the project, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and the contents of your request.

GitHub star count

The site requests the repository's public star count from the GitHub API in your browser. GitHub may receive ordinary request information such as your Internet Protocol address and browser details. Aerospace Skills receives only the public repository response and does not use this request to identify you.

How information is used

Information is used to:

Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, newsletter delivery relies on your consent. Essential hosting and security processing relies on the legitimate interest in operating and protecting the site. Analytics relies on consent where required by applicable law and otherwise on the legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Service providers and disclosure

Information may be processed by the following providers for the purposes described above:

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, investigate abuse, or complete a transfer of the project. Aerospace Skills does not sell personal information and does not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and browser controls

Google Analytics may store or read analytics cookies and similar identifiers. You can block or delete cookies through your browser, use privacy or content-blocking features, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics does not prevent access to the site's documentation or local skills.

The site does not currently respond to the legacy “Do Not Track” browser signal because there is no consistently adopted technical standard for that signal. It also does not currently provide an on-site analytics preference control. Browser cookie and content-blocking controls remain available.

Retention

Newsletter contact information is retained while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, limited information may be retained as needed to document and honor that choice. Correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to address the request and maintain project records. Analytics and hosting information are retained according to the configured service settings and provider policies, and only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here.

International processing

The providers listed above may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use contractual or other legal transfer mechanisms described in their privacy terms.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. You may unsubscribe from newsletter email through the link in any newsletter. To submit another privacy request, use the contact below. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and Aerospace Skills does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact the project if you believe a child has provided personal information.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site's data practices or providers change. Material changes will be reflected on this page by updating the date above.
